The Cultural Portfolio

The Cultural Portfolio is an ongoing body of photographic and digital work documenting contemporary life through sustained observation of place, architecture, public space, and lived experience. Developed over many years, it brings together interconnected series from Australia, Japan and beyond into an evolving visual archive of modern culture.
Working across large-format photography, moving image and digital practice, the project preserves moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed—building a long-form record of environments, communities and everyday experience. Individual works can be experienced independently, while together they form a broader narrative shaped by time, movement and accumulation.
Research-driven and continually evolving, The Cultural Portfolio is designed for long-term cultural value. Studio MD welcomes conversations with institutions, curators and collaborators interested in exhibition, research, acquisition, licensing and public presentation.
